It can also be visited from Kotdwar to Satpuli, Pauri, and Srinagar route.

Auli was a common-place before the formation of Uttarakhand but it has been developed in the last few years. Auli is also connected with the Ramayana period. According to mythology, when Lakshman became unconscious during the war in Lanka, Hanuman had to come to Kailash Mountains to take Sanjivani. In the middle of the journey, he rested in Auli for a short time. Therefore, there is a temple of God Hanuman. History of Auli is found in the 8th century. According to beliefs, Guru Adi Shankaracharya came to this holy place. However, now Auli is not being developed as a pilgrimage site but it is being developed as a tourist destination and its credit goes to the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam, which has provided ropeway, chair cars, and skiing besides making a beautiful resort here.
