Har Ki Dun such a wonderful track that attracts trekkers from around the world for decades. This trek is located at an elevation of 3556 meters above sea level and is surrounded by pine forests from four sides. It’s a cold place where the temperature is always 10 degrees maximum in winters and it’s always 15 degrees to in summers. This is a 7-day long trek, which starts from Dehradun and ends in Dehradun, during trekking, trekkers can see four beautiful places of Garhwal including Sanchari, Taluka, Osla, Har Ki Doon. Har Ki Doon (meaning the Valley of God) is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, there is a small village in the lap of Fateh Mountain, surrounded by the assistant Rupin and Sopin rivers of Yamuna. It is an extremely remote place near the Himalayas. In the north Kinnaur of Himachal and east of Tibet in the heart of Tuna, everybody has their own area under the Govind Animal Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Swargarohini Mountain is clearly visible from here. This is the place where the Pandavas had found the way of heaven in religious mythology. There is also a tale connected with the Har Ki Dun. The story of Harpu that was revealed was that a barge named Harpu used to come here every year for wool from the sheep, because all the Bhedal people used to cut sheep on a fixed date. Which is called the Nunai festival in the local language. Even that year, Harpu came with a drum and thanked the elders of the bumblebees as he used to do the job. The bhedal people used to give him wool and his eyes started spraying with happiness. He also thought that at least this time he is going to get the maximum wool, so that he will be able to make more clothes for his children. He is worn in Dhol Sagar’s tune that he gave up all his knowledge in the same way. That is why the local people here call the Har-Ki-Dun by the name Harpu.
