Overview

One of those untouched places is Nelong Valley or Nelang Valley, You will find deep valleys of river Ganges, Landscapes of Nelong are quite similar to Ladakh and known well also as the best secret kept with Uttarkashi Uttarakhand and gives a 360- degree view of Tibetan Plateau. The valley is located at an altitude of 11,000 feet about 315km away from Dehradun you can reach Bhaironghati, which is just an 8km trek from Gangotri shrine an easily accessible place, given its religious importance.

Gartang Gali is the 105 m long wooden bridge still reported to be intact. This architectural masterpiece stands as a spectacular stand. It is a new addition to the bucket lists of the explorers, as it opens for tourists for the first after 52 long years after the Indo China war in 1962. Recently in 2015 under special permission from the Indian government, this ancient masterpiece and skywalk have restored for both domestic and international trekker. In recent permission by the government, one can enjoy camping and relax under the clear blue night sky. Tourists would require a fitness certificate along with a permit from the sub-divisional magistrate. Day 1: Haridwar / Dehradun to Uttarkashi(195 Km/140 Km Drive)

Early morning after breakfast drive to Uttarkashi via Chamba, en route you having glimpses of some good sights i.e Tehri Lake, and Himalayan peaks. 1400 hrs: on arrival in Uttarkashi check in at the hotel. Evening free to relax and explore the Uttarkashi town (the Kashi of the north). Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Uttarkashi to Harsil (80 Km drive)

After breakfast drive to Harsil, on the way, you may visit Gangani and enjoy the hot water spring. Arrival at Harsil and check in at the hotel. Evening free to relax and explore the majestic nature of Harsil Valley.

Harsil, Unexplored Valley, is an unspoiled and hidden jewel of Uttarakhand state offering ample scope for people seeking peace and serenity in the lap of Himalayas. It is situated on the bank of Bhagirathi River (Ganga River) at an elevation of 2620 Mts. above sea level enthusiasts and nature lovers. Dense deodar forest, gushing water of Bhagirathi, chirping of birds, salubrious environment and serene environs are the highlights of this little secluded destination.

Harsil - on the way to Gangotri Harsil itself is an attraction a destination that has become popular among the travelers in a very short period of time.

Apple orchards - known for its delicious apple orchards Harshil apples are popular globally today. 2000 hrs: Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Harsil to Gartang Gali (1.5 Km Trek) to Nelong Valley/ (43 Km drive + 2 Km Trek) to Harshil (2 Km Trek + 43 Km drive)

Early morning after breakfast you board a local vehicle and drive to Nelong. Nelong is a rocky desert at an altitude of 11400 ft. (comes under Gangotri National Park ). It was an ancient trade route which connected India and Tibet and was approachable until 1962 before China occupied Tibet. The route has just open for the tourist since last year only and limited permits are issued by Indian Army to visit this valley. Drive back to Harsil

Day 4: Harsil to Gangotri (30 km Drive)

After early breakfast at Harsil drive to Gangotri about 25 KM. Upon reaching Gangotri take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Visit the Gangotri Temple.

 

Attractions:

Gangotri Temple - was constructed by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th century. Submerged Shivling – according to mythology Lord Shiva sat on this rock when he received Ganga in the matted lock, the rock is only visible during the winter when the water level goes down. After Lunch back to Harsil. Explore this beautiful valley - i.e can take a short trek to Sat Tal, Kyar Koti, Mukhba village, etc. Dinner &Overnight stay at the Harsil.

Day 5: Harshil to Mussoorie (180 Km Drive)

After a lazy morning has breakfast and drives to Mussoorie, one of the most popular hill stations (queen of hills). Evening free to explore the mall road and gun hill. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Mussoorie to Dehradun/Haridwar (45 Km/95 Km Drive)

After breakfast on time transfer to Haridwar / DehraDun to board on time to board flight/ Train for your onward destination.
